Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sugar-free pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
  • Add the diced onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
  • Pour the sugar-free pizza sauce into the skillet and stir until the beef and onion mixture is coated.
  • Spread half of the beef mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the beef mixture.
  • Spread the remaining beef mixture over the cheese.
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the beef mixture.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Sprinkle the chopped fresh basil over the top of the casserole.
